No, there is no separate departure tax when leaving Bali or Indonesia anymore. The old airport departure tax was removed years ago, and any airport-related fees are already included in your airline ticket price.

This means you do not need to pay anything at the airport before boarding your international flight from Bali.

However, foreign tourists visiting Bali are required to pay the Bali Tourism Levy (often called the Bali tourist tax).

The levy is IDR 150,000 per person and is used to support Bali’s culture, environment, and tourism infrastructure. This fee is separate from your visa and airline ticket.

How To Pay The Bali Tourism Levy

Go to https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id or download the Love Bali App (available on Google Play and the App Store).

After completing payment, you will receive a QR code and proof of payment that can be shown to officers at the airport or seaport if requested.

Paying online is generally faster because it helps you avoid queues after landing.

Travelers who have not paid in advance can still pay upon arrival at designated counters at Bali’s international airport or certain seaports.

Who Must Pay The Bali Levy?

Who Is Exempt From The Bali Levy?

Automatic Exemption (No Application Required)

These individuals are automatically exempt from the levy:

• Diplomatic and Official Visa Holders: People traveling on diplomatic or official visas do not need to pay the fee.
• Crew Members: Crew members working on airlines or ships are also exempt.
• Holders of KITAS (Temporary Stay Permit) or KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit): Foreign nationals holding a KITAS or KITAP are not required to pay the levy.
• Holders of Family Unification Visas: If you hold a Family Unification Visa (for foreign family members of Indonesian citizens), you are exempt from the levy.
• Holders of Student Visas: International students studying in Indonesia who hold a valid student visa are not subject to the tourism levy.

Exemption with Application (Must Apply at Least 5 Days Before Arrival)

Certain groups must apply for an exemption in advance through the Love Bali platform:

• Holders of Golden Visas: If you hold a Golden Visa, you will need to apply for an exemption before your arrival.
• Other Visa Holders: If you hold a non-tourist visa (such as a business visa), you may be exempt from the levy, but you must apply through Love Bali at least 5 days before arriving.
