How to Choose Immigration Office in Bali Based on Address

How to Choose Immigration Office in Bali Based on Address

In Bali, your designated immigration office (Kantor Imigrasi) for visa extensions and services is determined by your residential address, especially your postal code (kode pos).

The island is covered by five main offices: Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Denpasar Immigration Office, Singaraja Immigration Office, Tabanan Immigration Office, and Klungkung Immigration Office.

Using the correct office ensures your biometric appointment is valid and helps you avoid unnecessary delays during your visa process.

Why Postal Code Matters

Your postal code is typically used by the immigration system to determine which immigration office is closest to your registered address and where you must go for biometric photo sessions, visa extensions, or other immigration needs.

When you apply through evisa.imigrasi.go.id, the system automatically maps your address and postal code to a specific Kantor Imigrasi.

Because of this:

  • You cannot freely choose any immigration office
  • Your biometric appointment will follow your registered address
  • Incorrect postal codes can lead to wrong office assignment and delays

Based on your postal code, you can identify which immigration office you should visit. Below is the breakdown by region.

Address Verification

Always use the same address that you submitted in your initial application through evisa.imigrasi.go.id.

This includes making sure your postal code is accurate, as it is a key factor used by the immigration system to determine your assigned office.

In Indonesia, the postal code is what the system relies on to map your location and decide which immigration office is responsible for your case.

Using a different address or incorrect postal code can result in being assigned to the wrong office, which may delay your process or require rescheduling.

Biometrics Requirement

Visa extensions now require a mandatory in-person visit for biometric recording, including fingerprints and a photo.

This appointment is not flexible and is strictly tied to the address and postal code you provided during your application.

The postal code is typically used by the immigration system to determine which immigration office you must visit for biometric purposes and other immigration needs.

Because of this, you must attend the correct office assigned to your address, as visiting a different office may lead to rejection or delays.

Appointment and Office Confirmation

Before attending your biometric session, it is important to confirm your designated immigration office.

You can do this through evisa.imigrasi.go.id or by using a visa agency who can verify it for you.

Keep in mind that immigration jurisdictions in Bali can be very specific, sometimes down to the village level (Desa).

Even nearby areas may fall under different offices depending on their postal code, which is used by the system to determine the nearest and correct immigration office you are required to visit.
