Required Documents for Bali Visa on Arrival (VoA & e-VoA)

Whether you choose to apply online (e-VoA) or at the airport upon arrival, you must prepare the following documents in advance. While requirements may vary slightly depending on how you apply, these are the essentials you should have:

1. Valid Passport

Must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Indonesia.

Ensure your passport has at least one blank page for the visa stamp (if applying at the airport).

Scan/photo must be clear and in color for e-VoA applications.

2. Return or Onward Ticket

A confirmed ticket showing your departure from Indonesia is required.

It must be within the 30-day validity period of the visa (or 60 days if extended).

Immigration officers may request to see this at check-in or at the port of entry.

3. Proof of Sufficient Funds

You may be asked to provide proof that you can support yourself during your stay.

While not always enforced, it’s recommended to have bank statements or a credit card showing access to at least USD 1,000 or local equivalent.

Having a printed copy is a plus.

4. Passport-Sized Photo (e-VoA only)

Required for online applications only.

3×4 cm, color, with a white background.

Must be in .JPG, .JPEG, or .PNG format, between 400×600 px and 2MB max.

No heavy edits, filters, or scanned images from paper copies.

5. COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate

Still recommended or required in some cases for entry or visa application.

Should include your full name matching the passport and vaccination details.

PDF or image file accepted.

6. Credit or Debit Card

Needed to pay the visa fee (IDR 500,000) online or at the airport.

For e-VoA, only Visa, Mastercard, or JCB cards with 3D Secure are accepted.

The card does not have to be in your name, but must allow international transactions.

7. Email Address and Online Form Access (e-VoA only)

A valid email is required to register and receive your visa approval.

You’ll need to complete a 4-step online form, including personal data, travel plans, and upload fields.

8. Arrival/Departure Card

Provided during your flight or at the airport immigration counter.

Must be completed and submitted upon entry to Indonesia.

✅ Tip: Keep digital and printed copies of all documents in case of system errors or inspection at the airport.

Yes. VoA and e-VoA can both be extended once for another 30 days, giving you up to 60 days total.

💡 Apply for your extension at least 7 days before your visa expires.

How to Extend:

Planning to stay in Bali longer than 60 days? You may want to consider a C1/211A Tourist Visa instead. It offers more flexibility and can be extended for up to 180 days. Read our full comparison of e-VOA vs. C1/211A to find the best option for your trip.

❗Important Notes & Tips

  • ✅ Your e-VoA is valid for entry up to 90 days after approval.
  • ❌ VoA/e-VoA does not permit paid work.
  • ⛔ Providing incorrect passport details invalidates the visa and may result in entry refusal.
  • ⚠️ Overstaying costs IDR 1,000,000 per day. More than 60 days = possible deportation.
