If you forgot to pay the IDR 150,000 Bali tourist levy before arriving, do not panic. If payment is still outstanding and no exemption applies, you can pay through the official Love Bali website or app while in Bali. If you already paid but cannot find the QR voucher, check the existing payment first rather than paying again.
If already in Bali, use the official website, an available airport or port counter, or a registered Love Bali payment endpoint. Keep the resulting voucher accessible for checks.
The Bali tourist levy is a mandatory fee introduced for international visitors entering Bali.
The fee, set at IDR 150,000 per eligible foreign tourist, applies to children and adults unless an exemption applies, whether entering Bali directly or from another part of Indonesia.
It’s collected by the Bali provincial government. The official Love Bali FAQ describes payment as once while travelling in Bali before leaving Indonesia. Do not assume that a domestic side trip outside Bali automatically requires a second payment; check the rule for your itinerary.
Payment, voucher-recovery and exemption information checked on 4 November 2026.
Steps to Take if You Forgot to Pay the Levy
If you’ve realized that you forgot to pay the Bali tourist levy before your arrival, don’t panic. First identify which situation applies, then follow the relevant step below.
| Your situation | What to do next |
|---|---|
| You have not paid and no exemption applies | Pay the outstanding levy through official Love Bali or an authorised payment point. |
| You paid but cannot find the QR voucher | Check your email and use the Resend Levy Voucher form below. |
| A family member, agent or group organiser paid | Ask for your voucher and check the traveller details before paying again. |
| Your bank shows a charge but the payment status is unclear | Keep the transaction reference and ask official support to check the record. |
| You may qualify for an exemption | Check your category and the evidence or advance application required. |
1. Pay the Levy Online Immediately
If the levy is genuinely unpaid and no exemption applies, one of the quickest ways to resolve the situation is to pay the levy online.
You can visit the official Love Bali website or download the app to complete the payment from anywhere.
This is a convenient method whether you’re already in Bali or still en route.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Visit the Official Love Bali Website: Go to lovebali.baliprov.go.id (official platform for the levy).
- Complete Payment: Follow the prompts to pay the IDR 150,000 per person. The payment should be made before you leave for Bali or during your stay.
- Receive Confirmation: Once you’ve paid, you’ll receive a QR code by email. This code serves as proof of payment.
- Save the QR Code: Keep the voucher offline and accessible if authorised officers ask for proof during your stay.
Tip: Check that the voucher matches your traveller details. A bank charge alone does not give you a usable levy QR voucher. The levy is separate from your visa and All Indonesia Arrival Card.
You can also pay the levy through Visa BaliEasy, where our team will assist you in completing the payment quickly and seamlessly.
Our team can help explain the payment steps and which details to prepare. Official payment-record and voucher issues should be checked through Love Bali.
Simply contact us or visit our Bali Tourist Levy page, and we’ll guide you through the payment process with ease.

2. Pay the Levy On-Site in Bali
If you are already in Bali and forgot to pay the levy, you can still do so. The official FAQ lists airport and port payment counters, plus registered endpoints such as hotels, travel agents and tourist attractions.
If you are at Ngurah Rai International Airport, ask staff where the official levy counter is operating. During your stay, confirm that any hotel, agent or attraction offering payment is registered in Love Bali; not every business is a payment endpoint.
Love Bali states that levy payments are cashless. Confirm the accepted method at the payment point and obtain the official QR voucher. If you are already away from the airport, the official online route may be more convenient.
3. Keep Proof of Payment
After paying the levy, you’ll receive a QR code or confirmation voucher via email or from the on-site payment system. It’s important to:
- Save the QR Code: This serves as your proof of payment.
- Show Proof When Asked: Keep the official levy voucher available for authorised checks during your stay. A payment receipt can help support trace a transaction, but do not assume it replaces the QR voucher.
It’s a good idea to take a screenshot of the voucher and keep an offline copy, so you can retrieve it without relying on mobile data.
Already Paid but Cannot Find Your Levy Voucher?
Search the email used for payment, including spam and junk folders. If someone paid on your behalf, ask them for the confirmation and voucher first.
The official Resend Levy Voucher form asks for:
- The invoice number shown on the original payment receipt.
- The passport number used for that payment.
- An email address to receive the voucher.
Enter those details on Love Bali and follow the form instructions. The email field is the delivery address for the resent voucher, which is useful if the original email address was entered incorrectly. Check invoice and passport spelling carefully. If you do not have an invoice, the record cannot be found, or your bank was charged without a voucher, use official Love Bali support and keep your transaction reference ready.

Think you paid twice? Keep both transaction references, invoices and vouchers, and ask official support to review the records. Do not assume a duplicate charge will be refunded automatically.
Was the levy included in your visa package? Not automatically. Check your invoice and ask the provider for your levy voucher. A visa approval or All Indonesia QR code is a separate document.
Consequences of Not Paying
If the levy applies to you, passing through the airport without being asked for a voucher does not mean you are exempt or that payment has been recorded.
- If payment is outstanding, complete it through an official channel and save the voucher.
- If you have already paid, recover the voucher or ask official support to check the transaction before paying again.
- If authorised officers ask for proof, have your voucher or exemption evidence ready and follow their instructions.
The levy is a provincial tourism charge. Paying it does not issue a visa, extend your permitted stay or resolve an immigration overstay.
Therefore, it’s important to pay the levy promptly if you realize that you have missed it before your arrival.
Exemptions from the Bali Tourism Levy
Certain individuals are not required to pay the Bali tourism levy, with exemptions categorized into automatic and application-based. The official FAQ explains the categories; confirm that your own visa or stay-permit documents meet the applicable requirements.
Automatic Exemptions (No Application Needed)
The official FAQ says the following groups can show their qualifying visa, card or other relevant evidence to the officer rather than applying through the exemption form:
- Diplomatic and Official Visa Holders: Those traveling with diplomatic or official visas are exempt.
- Crew Members: Airline or ship crew members do not need to pay the levy.
- Holders of KITAS (Temporary Stay Permit) or KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit): Foreign nationals holding a KITAS or KITAP are exempt from paying the levy.
- Family Unification Visa Holders: Foreign family members of Indonesian citizens holding a Family Unification Visa are exempt.
- Student Visa Holders: International students with a valid student visa are not required to pay the levy.
Exemptions Requiring Application (Must Apply at Least 5 Days Before Arrival)
Some individuals must submit an application for exemption in advance via the official Love Bali exemption form, which states applications must be made no later than five days before arrival:
- Golden Visa Holders: If you hold a Golden Visa, you must apply for the exemption prior to arrival.
- Non-Tourist Visa Holders: Individuals holding non-tourist visas (e.g., business visas) may be exempt but must apply through Love Bali at least 5 days before entering Bali.
Note: This is a levy on foreign tourists, not Indonesian citizens. If you are already in Bali and missed an application deadline, contact Love Bali to clarify your situation rather than assuming an exemption has been approved.
